Comedy of Errors
Well at least now I can look back on the last week and laugh, before it wasn't too funny...
Monday: I had the worst cramps ever (sorry boys). And I had temperature. I thought it was the flu for a little bit. Still went to work and suffered through it. Though never ate anything that day because I felt so bad.
Tuesday: We were supposed to get a bad snow storm early in the morning, well it finally came around 10am. It was so much more than we anticipated. At 1:40pm I went to go leave for work (10 minutes earlier than normal) it took me over 20 minutes to get out of my drive-way. Once I did, I couldn't go up our street, I could only go backwards. So I pulled into my husband's parking spot on the side of our house and needless to say, could not go to work that day.
Wednesday: I was going to a community college about 20 miles away to do recruiting for my department and 2 others. I was supposed to be there at 10am. Well since I didn't work on Tuesday, I needed to go in early to get some other work done, I go out around 8:30am to start my car... it won't turn over. Dead battery. I call my friend Kyle who works as a salesman at my job. He comes over about an hour later with his battery starter. I get to work at 9:30am. I'm in such a rush trying to get everything together to go to the community college. I have these stands that we put signs on and I take them out to my car. As I'm trying to put them in my trunk, I slip and fall on the ice. I scrap the entire left side of my face on the metal stand. It starts bleeding. (I'm just glad it missed my eye and ear). I then leave and head towards the college. My windshield wiper fluid is frozen. So on the way there, going down the interstate, half the time I only have a small section on my windshield to even look out of. Seriously thought I was going to get in a wreck more than just once. Once I get to the college, they tell us that most of the professors called in and lots of the classes were cancelled. Didn't get a single employement application for the 3.5 hours I was there.
And it was Valentine's day!!
Thursday: Go to work early b/c my boss tells me she needs to go over some scheduling issues with me... she isnt there when I arrive. Never does tell me about the issues and leaves shortly after being there. Never get accomplished what we are supposed to.
Friday: My day off (yeah!) Well sort of. I volunteered to go help our friends set up for Mardi Gras. Did I mention it was 20 degrees outside? I was there from 11am-5:30pm. Could not feel my feet by 2pm but I pushed through the pain to help them. By 6pm I just could not stand it anymore and had to leave. Once I got home, I sat under my heating blanket and another big blanket for over 2 hours before I got feeling back to my toes.
Saturday: Mardi Gras!!! One of my most favorite days of the entire year. We got to our private party around 10:30am. Yes, I froze. Three pairs of paints and shirts and socks, not enough. However, we all still had a good time. Even with snow boots on (I completely gave up on looking cute.. aside from my pink hat and scarf:) I was numb for most of the day. We closed the party down around 7pm. I think today around 2pm I got feeling back in feet.
So that was my week. I hope I don't have a scar on my cheek. Neosporin is my best friend. And I'm wind burnt (so wish it was sun burnt by this point). But what can you do. All I can say is that this week HAS to be better right?
