Chi-Town

So I'm moving. Well, sort of. I am going to Chicago (boo Cubs and Bears, still will never be a fan). The opportunity has arrised that I can actually go and live with my husband on his work site. I'm actually going to be his "secretary".

I'm excited about getting to see/live with Brad every day of the week. Having him as my boss, yeah.. well... we will see how well that goes. I have to find leather, closed toe shoes. I guess all my heels will be my back up for the weekends. I have convinced him that I need to buy some Doc Martens.

I'm excited to actually go live with him. We will be back nearly every other weekend, but still. For me to just get up and move is HUGE.

Preparing for the move has made me think alot about my sister. I'm just going to Chi-Town for a year. I keep thinking about the Christmas tree I won't be able to put up, the random get togethers with my girls I'm going to miss and more than anything, not being able to see my parents on a regular basis.

Well that and losing my girls. Sammie is going to my in-laws and Mattey is going to go live with Beck. I keep saying it is a great experience for us, but I also think about all I'm leaving behind.

I'm very excited so I guess really all there is left to do is to say good-bye.

Forever and a Day

Yes, I do realize how long it has been since I've posted anything. There are 2 reasons for my downfall. One, I didn't think anything of interest was going on in my life and two, sadly, I had forgotten my logon info (google, you confuse me!)

To catch everyone up to speed (and by everyone, I mean the 3 people that actually read this)... Laura did finally have Ryan, the day after I last blogged actually. I saw him when he was less than 24 hours old. New babies are kinda funny looking, but amazing nonetheless. He's now offically 6 months old.

Summer has been how it usually is for us. Very hectic with lots going on. Nearly every Sunday we were out on the lake with our newest addition. No, not a kid. We call her our Dink (double income no kids). A beautiful 2006 Sea Doo RXP with a 215 HP engine-- for guys reading this and actually knowing what that means, it does 75 mph, though I've only been brave enough to get it up to 71--still way to scary, but it's only water right?? Our pontoon, The Mayflower, was in excellent condition and did wonderfully this year.

I went to Chicago for the first time since I went there back in grade school to take Laurie to the airport. We went with our friends Nick and Andrea from college. They got engaged on Sunday (we weren't there, but Nick told us it was happening). We went to 2 Cubs vs. Cards game. Won Friday, lost Saturday. It was... well.... ummm... an experience. I guess it's like the time I went to the 49ers Rams game in San Fran. It's something every fan should do at least once in their lifetime. Though I must say Cubs fans can be very bitter. I still have hope for this season!!

One of my best friends, Allison, got engaged. I'm a bridesmaid! There are only 3 of us and I'm so incredibly honored to be a part of her big day. It's not until next May, but I love weddings and planning so much that I just can't wait. Oh, and we have really cute (actually WILL wear after the wedding) bridesmaid dresses.

My non for profit organization: www.friendsunitedagainstms.org held a joint fundraiser with www.pegcanhelp.com against domestic violence for our first annual golf tourney. Soooo much work, but a great turn out and so well worth it.

Last but not least, Big Brother 8 started. I have the live feeds again. Occupies most of my evenings. However, it's starting to get boring again with only 6 people left. I'm sure that next year, they will love my audition tape and finally put me on there.

So that is my last 6 months in a nut shell. I'm sure there are lots of things I'm forgetting. I really am going to try and post more now that I've re-learned how to sign on.

Football starts tomorrow...welcome Fall!!

Oh and my new favorite cd- Mandy Moore (yes, really) Wild Hope. I highly recommend it.
